Default Mufflers: delete sides or center?

Since i have had my GT3 i have tried various exhaust senarios.

1.Stock
2.Sharkwerks center delete
3.SUPERCUP (both center and side delete)

Stock headers and cats are fine. Im happy with those. (for now)

Since i had the Sharwerks center delete i was super happy with the sound.

Then i removed Sharkwerks for the SCUP system. Sounds crazy at speed and weighs about the same as 12 long stem roses.

I prefer the everyday sound of the Sharwerks vs. the SCUP , however i cant bring myself to install it again because of the side mufflers. They are just so damn heavy and bulky once i got them off and had a good look at them!

So has anyone removed the sides, but kept the full center?

Has anybody run just a small lightweight "center"?

any preference here?

What would be the nicest set up if you could choose one?

Would you rather the center or the sides? ( i assume weights would have a factor here)

I've wondered the same thing, especially now that the .2 RS has the titanium rear muffler.

I have a cargraphic system on my GT3.It deletes the side silencers. To my ears perfect.I have driven 350 miles in a day with no problems.I tried deleting the centre silencer as well but that was too much and my father said I would probably be arrested.

I had the good fortune to drive CoRS's 2007 GT3 RS with the AWE exhaust system and it sounded fantastic. But the AWE system comprises everything including the headers to the tailpipes. Construction is impeccable and ~16 lbs weight savings. We conversed easily driving at highway speeds without any sign of drone or resonance. Acceleration sound was exceptional; balanced and linear from low revs to redline with excellent throttle response.

AWE 997 GT3 exhaust system

No affiliation. I was simply impressed and I am currently contemplating the same choices; Sharkwerks or RSS center delete or AWE complete package.

Why not spec a custom pipe to exactly what you want? On our 6GT3's, both PJS and I have enjoyed a custom hand made Advanced Street Performance (ASP) system by Charles.
Neither PJS nor I have an affiliation with ASP or Charles other than our satisfaction for his detailed and knowledgeable work.

They save 56 pounds off the rear-end. It's a VERY wild sound and not the best for the street. Yes there's resonance too... If you can keep the engine to 3000rpms it's not bad though. I have three made (one's on our car) so two are for sale as of now...

Wow!! Definitely "super" aggressive sounding! Good work Alex and James!!
Definitely need a "no sound limit" track to run this setup at..... which rules out Calabogie and Tremblant for me.... Mosport still works!

I'll say! Perfect.

How different does it sound on the 3.6... or 3.9?

And how much is that exhaust, Alex?

What are we going to do with the new fancy titanium '10RS exhaust? Is it already louder?
Would'nt i7 be a shame to take the fancy titanium center muffler and toss it? Side muffler delete instead of center delete maybe?
