Remember the book for women titled "He's just not into you" ? Or some such...

Your dealer is giving you a message yes? For whatever reason.

It sucks and you are understandably pissed. As I would be.

But it is a waste of energy to fight it.

Like any relationship gone sour, you must accept their message and seek more fruitful pastures elsewhere. Post for an MSRP allocation here? Maybe good fortune will smile?

Lots of time between now and next year. Onward Upward!!!!

Bert Smith in St. Pete sells at MSRP. Call and ask for Mike O'Donnell.

Mooty, if you have any problems I will put you in contact with my wife...seriously long story but she is awesome with things like this and is well liked at Bert Smith.

thanx. i have all that info as well.
i guess they took it easy on me. they only wanted 30 over for me.
though last i heard was sold at 25 over waiting for deposit.

boy oh boy, i sure didn't spec it that way.
my would have had zero option.
i dont have the money to pay for premium, thus surely i cannot come up with the dough for:
the expensive paint
the front end viagra system
the foreskin... i mean full leather interior
what is blue tooth? my are yellow as i drink lots of starbux and smoke marlboro but i do use colgate.

it is an extra car, but it's not for me.

This is almost like battered wife syndrome: Your dealer just financially punched you in the face with brass knuckles on, and here you are trying to ignore that and negotiate an ongoing relationship.

If the economy remains weak or we get a double dip, you may well be able to negotiate a good deal on a 2010 Turbo, and it is a phenomenal car, PDK, dynamic mounts, Torque Vectoring, etc.

Furthermore, the new Boxster Spyder is a hugely compelling value proposition- add to it Ti FVD Brombacher exhaust system from Rhonda, and some AMT Forged Alloys at ~15lbs front and ~18lbs rear and you have an incredible toy. And save a big ole' wad of cash too.

Seriously, if the RS is not to be, there are some superb alternatives. Keep an open mind. I am!

Regardless, I do wish you the best in how this all turns out!
My thoughts exactly

Mooty
you have told me to trust Gary , but when I was looking for an RS last time Gary lowballed
me on the GT3 trade in, then wanted TOP dollar for the RS.
THIS IS WRONG moot!! you should get top shelf treatment from these guys. I would go in and talk to the owner. Tell him youre going to splash this all ever the internet. IN THIS economy this is just plain wrong!!! This is why we should boycott on this 997.2 RS's.
Oh you are a great customer but we would rather rip you off for 38K than have your loyalty and sell you another 17 cars.

Maybe I am reading between the lines but as far as I have seen in the past all dealers drink the same cool aid and their loyalty to customers (if it ever exsit) is the same loyalty you should expect from a frequently visited prostitute. The only thing both show loyalty for is MONEY.....any other expectations and a great dissappointment is what you will get instead..

Name and shame is what I say.

I would never EVER pay over MSRP. Depreciation on these things is bad enough as is! Look at all the GT3's and RS's current resale prices dropping off the cliff over the past 6-9 months. The flipper/bubble-wrap crowd had their heads ripped off and rightfully so. Remember this...

Imagine you were stupid enough to pay $38k over and two years later it is worth $48-58 UNDER. Think about that for two seconds.
