Default Re-installing the factory center muffler...

on my 997 gt3. Do I loosely hang the muffler then reconnect the pipes? PS can have my GMG bypass for 500.00. Too loud for me.

I just put the Sharkwerks center bypass on my 997.2 (and had it on my 997.1 GT3) ... sound is perfect and definitely not too loud (unless you push the Sport button ... then it's "wish I were a Cup car!")

I think GMG might have made a mistake by enlarging the pipes and creating a resonant chamber with a sort of "trumpet" effect. Some guys enjoy the extra roar, but I know the mid-range rpm reverb drone is not for everyone.

I'd suggest you try to Sharkwerks bypass and see how it cooks. Very easy install, but I believe you have to remove the rear bumper cover and take it slowly ... trying to wriggle those donut seals into place and keep everything aligned is just hard work.

Do you have pics of your GMG pipes?
