Default Cup mirror retrofit question

Has anyone tried to retrofit Cup side mirrors to standard GT3? Just wondering how difficult an exercise it is?

i think they come with the cup doors... so fitment would be different?

install cup doors, and you get the mirrors.

Ruf has similar for the 964, they might make them for the 997.

Are they real carbon fiber, fiber glass and carbon or plastic covered with carbon cloth or, in fact, does anyone really know?

I have read that but it does not answer the question. The mirrors could be carbon fiber, a combination of fiber glass and carbon fiber or plastic covered with carbon cloth and they might still call them carbon as they do with the interior pieces that are not carbon but plastic with carbon cloth laminated thereon. In any event, it does not matter much as the weight savings for pieces such as these is minimum and the "optic" is that for which people pay.

I agree. This is probably the biggest issue, if power matters to you. Otherwise, based on the shape of the Cup mirrors i suspect that they simply replace the mirror attachment point finishers on the standard car with little to no modification.

Anyone ever resolve this issue?

I studied the mounting on a new cup car that was delivered at our local dealer and it seems the street version has the gasket and weather seal while the cup mirror mount has no provsion for this.

Wrestling with the same question. There are some aftermarket ones on ebay (manual / carbon fiber) but not sure of the weight savings.
