Results as of yesterday http://www.targanewfoundland.com/sta...4-9-Info-A.pdf
Tom is first in his class, 4th in the combined Modern classes, and 12th overall.
This is not only a long tarmac Rally, it is also an endurance test for any road car, almost 1,400 miles of heavy driving on bumpy roads, good test for any car reliability.

Final Results: http://www.targanewfoundland.com/sta..._Standings.pdf
Tom finishes first in his class, 5th in the combined Modern classes, and 14th overall. Just 6 minutes and 39 seconds behind his class projected time to make it to first place, after almost 1,400 miles of Racing.
Hopefully, once he's fully rested we will see a nice write-up. I'm looking forward to the Speed TV coverage later this year.

Congratulation. Marvelous job. Impressive to see the 911 standings throughout the field. And a tip of the hat -- pretty cool to see a 2002 take the win from a 911. The top four cars finishing within 23 seconds!
Driving all the Targas has to be on the bucket list. You're one closer than me. : )

i completed the targa newfoundland successfully.
3rd in class (1998-2010)
5th overall for modern vehicles (classes 7, 8 and 9)
14th overall (modern and classics)
1st in division (stock 1998-2010 with large displacment engine.)
i was running 2nd in class all week and top 10 overall, but a flat tire (bent a wheel on a curb from clippling the corner too tight) on thursdays last stage along with a full day of really disasterous down pour rain on friday dropped me back to 3rd place. (toyo 888 and RA-1's proved useless in heavy rain. hydroplane at 90km speeds all day long)
steve millen completely out powered me in his GTR, and he could also outdrive me. Since i only had 5 days driving experience in the GT3 i put up a good fight, but alas i had to let Millen pass me a few times on long stages. He is the best driver i have witnessed to date in this rally.
the GT3RS handled the rally extremely well requiring no work at all. ( i did have to tighten the upper front bilstein strut lock nuts after a stage mid week as they rattled loose)
the GT3rs with CUP exhaust was THE crowd favorite as the sound was intoxicating and made the car a living legend in the communities i raced threw.
The GT3RS made the rally a pleasure for competion driving and transits.
top speeds of 220kms, average speeds of 140kms, and 700km to a tank of gas was a delight in this race car.
the 2nd place overall winner in a 1965 porsche 911 from germany has a white GT3RS. We had good times along with all the other competitors in the rally. track guys, rally guys autox guys. Good times.
I will post video and pictures as soon as i can.
