Good luck, Go well. Its a long event so no need to set the world on fire the first day. I saw the underside of a 997 gt3 after targa new zealand and surprisingly the headers had bottomed out causing dents on both sides where the individual pipes curve down and then up before joining. they were installing protection bars.

That's exactly what I was thinking looking at the pic of the bottom side.

Could use some protection back there. I'm sure you'll know all about it by the end of this rally.

Best of luck to you. Wish I was your co-pilot!

I think a couple of "ribs" to protect the headers makes sense.

Here's some exhilarating footage from Targa NZ. The driving will look amateurish and nervous, but I think once you're flooded with adrenalin on country roads at 200 km/h, you've got to forgive some "over" driving. : )

Scroll forward to the 3:00 mark.

So you can see the importance of being smooth and conserving the car, smooth control inputs, staying on the middle of the road, not getting into the shoulders and the potholes or trying to "apex" turns. All of which must be 10x harder with the level of perceived risk, adrenalin and driving "blind."

Here's a shot of tcsracing1 waiting for his start signal that is posted on the TN website.

It's all I could find, but proof he's there! Bottom of page 1, click thumbnail.

So cool and awesome job...

I feel why you raised it up, removed front splitter and front air duct wing, but at the same time/on the other hand, the car was optimally built to run that way and might be beneficial but with the added risk of losing parts or breaking them of course...

Keep it up!

Great work.

I agree that being "behind Millen" is equivalent to being in 1st place. Just plan on that GTR blowing up, so all you need to focus on is staying in the game. And enjoying it. Great stuff. I'm sure we're all looking forward to some in-car video, etc. Keep it smooth! : )

Here is a link to the Results as of yesterday.

http://www.targanewfoundland.com/sta...u_2-8_Info.pdf

Tom is doing very well, he's just 8 secs behind Millen after two days, and 7th overall just 14th secs behind the leader. They have completed the Prologue, Leg 1 and Leg 2. Running Leg 3 today, with the last leg (#5) on Friday.

Tom is easily 200 Hp under Millen's GTR, and no AWD. Millen has been running the GTR around the World in Targa Rallies, and he's a Pro. This is Tom's first competition event with his new to him GT3 RS.

Amazing show by Tom
