'10 911 Turbo coming w/ PDK
Porsche announced today that they will intro the new Turbo in Frankfort Sept. 16th w/ a 3.8L D.I. producing 500 bhp, and 516 ft lbs of t w/ Sport Chrono.
Optional PDK w/ wheel mounted paddles...right for up, left for down!!!
Oh, if only they would offer this on the RS...never a chance of a missed downshift.

When they do that to the RS, it would mean the end of the GT-1 block engine, I guess?! (sounds like the turbo engine is based on the DFI 3.8L from the Carrera S)

Ouch! They just killed the Turbo, no more dry-sump for the 997TT, so the 2009 911 Turbo is the last one of the dry-sump engines.
It will be hard to justify the GT1 block for just the GT3/GT3 RS/GT2, and as cruel as it sounds, I won't be surprise if the next non dry-sump GT car is the GT2 based on this 2010 new Turbo powerplant.

Personally, I am excited about the new Turbo w/ PDK. Porsche claims to have made the new Turbo more sporty and made it lighter. They also gave the Turbo the dynamic engine mounts. I wonder with you can get the Turbo with the lowered Sport PASM like I have on my 09 C2S>...how can 500HP and PDK be wrong? Now my dream is a GT3 with PDK...when Porsche finally comes out with that car I will be able to finally drive a GT3....SWEET!

it will be very hard to decide whether to buy a PDK TT with 500hp, or a PDK GT3 that most likely will have 450hp. The decision between more hp or better handling...

Ahh there's some truth to that...but the lack of rear seats renders that option infeasible...just as for the GT3.
To be a little more considered....one needs to balance power and handling...either in extremity lacks.
For instance, take a Mustang Cobra (power)....and Lotus Elise (control) to represents ends of the spectrum, either are less convincing than a well honed mix, eg: GT3.
Power with control or well handled power, that's why I like...
