997 GT3 Suspension upgrade?
#16
I've fitted the GT2 rear ARB (sway bar?). It is stiffer than the GT3's one so should help reduce understeer. Not tried it out properly yet, but a first visit to Spa in 10 days should give the car a proper workout

Victor transformed my car with his alignment help.. I have just about everything he mentioned upgrade wise, including the motons but just couldn't get it setup properly, it was a MESS for well over a year... After his setup, bang, first try night and day, can't thank you enough bud

@ mental dental :
I had the GT2 ARB before I replaced the OEM Bilsteins and it was indeed an improvement. Now that I have the stiffer KWs, the GT2 ARB was too much and I have reverted to the OEM ARB.

I'm with Mooty on this one. If you want to ace the vette you can spend a fortune or:
Get a proper track alignment;
Replace the rear sway bar with the one from the 997 GT2
Lose the Cups and get Pirelli slicks (they fit your 19 inch wheels)
Use Pagid RS 19 or 29 brake pads.
You will out corner a Z06 and absolutely kill it under braking.
On the straights, he will outpower you, his car is lighter and has way more power.
On the other hand you'll have spent about $2,500 to make his life really miserable.

$2500 is well worth it!
I do have a track alignment.
Slicks are a problem because I drive to the track.
The pads are a problem because I have PCCB's
I'm using the OEM pads. Very hard braking is not as good as I would like.
It's hard to go as deep as I want to with the stock PCCB set up.

Understand the problem of driving to the track. You should run the PCCB race pads, stock street pads are not recommended for track, your manual probably says this. The PCCB track pads are the P 50 compound I believe.
Too bad you can't run the slicks, that's the cheapest 4 second a lap improvement you can buy. Are you running the 19 inch Cups? If so switch to the Pirelli Corsa (note note the Corsa System OEM tire, the real R compound version) which is available in 19 inches and fits our cars. Way better than the street cups and safe to drive on the street.
Best,

1. Pirellis
2. GT2 or GMG rear sway bar
3. TRG toe links
4. Pads
(reccommend you convert to iron rotors that fit the PCCB calipers and put what is left of your PCCB rotors in boxes for resale)

the KWs are adjustable. I had Sean Edwards test the car at Spa and with his recommendations it is a pleasure to drive on the track: much more predictable. I am too much of an amateur to set up the car myself, but the difference is marked on the track. ON the road the car is somewhat stiffer, but still manageable (certainly compared to my 996 GT3). Anyway, I have the KWs with hydraulic lift : I need these to get into my underground garage. So I had no choice but to drop the OEM shocks.
