Mostly a review of Aston Martin V12 Vantage but they throw in a drag race against the GT2 at the end in which the poor Aston gets its doors blown off.

Thanks for the link - In the write up of the test in the magazine they critisized the GT2 for having a hard ride saying "its suspension was simply too stiff, its body control too crashy to live with the Aston"

What a complete load of tosh, the GT2 has an awesome balance and supple ride, having said that these guys are ******, that drag race they have is at Bruntingthorpe airfield and they stop at 150mph - pathetic anyone who enjoys a GT2 would have taken it up to at least 180mph on that straight before braking

@ 1:05-1:06 why are the brake lights flashing?
Due to the driver pumping or hard braking is triggering the panic braking mode?

The LED brake lights appear to be flashing when filmed on video. In person they do not, it is a camera caused illusion.

 

No contest. The Vantage is a heavy car, nice car with the V12 but 997GT2 is in another level.

 

perhaps the vantage NA should have went head to head with a NA 997.2 GT3?

im not sure of price points, but a turbo just dosnt seem fair to the aston

i wonder what the weight balance of the aston is like with that v12 shoehorned in there?
i really like it.... but i bet that engine is hard to work on since it is stuffed under the bonnet and deep into firewall....

 

I think its an unfair comparison, the 911's are more track oriented where as the Aston is a luxury coupe with cojones.
