Default Delivery Dates of new 2010 GT3???

I've been told the launch of the 2010 GT3 is not till Oct of this year. I have a June build and was told that my car arrives in October. Anybody taking delivery earlier than the October date this year? btw, this is my first post. I've been an avid Rennlist follower for years and it's great to be back!

I am very curious as to how this works out. There are many stories about when the June build dates will arrive here in the states.

I'm in Calgary, Canada, and have a June build. My dealer has absolutely assured me that my car will arrive here no later than 4 weeks after my build date which is June 22nd. I will keep you all posted.

....I sincerely hope he is indeed correct, since I sold my previous sports car privately in May, in preperation. Also, I will be on vacation for 6 six weeks starting in mid September.

We'll see!

Cheers!

I was informed that the June built would be done before the factory goes on hiatus in August but due to PCNA launch date, the GT3 would be held in San Diego port until the release in October.

For my 2007 GT3, I had a July 17th build date that arrived in mid August to Toronto, ON. Not sure why a June build would arrive in October!

Canada....is very likely a completely different "ballgame" in terms of the shipping mechanisms in place, and for sure the customs end of things. Best of luck those ordering State-side.

Cheers!

I have Sept and Dec builds available. Trying to determine what options will be available before pulling trigger on earlier build. Either way, they'll be a slot open when I make the call and I'll post it for anyone still looking.

When I was comparing to others with similar build dates, the USA cars arrived earlier by a few days. I think the only difference is which port your car comes through and the order in which your port gets deliveries from the ship.

certain ports definitely arrive earlier, depending on distance to your dealer. cars landing in florida for florida dealers arrive quicker than cars landing in baltimore for new hampshire dealers... but even so it generally takes a few days to uncrate the cars and put them on transport, then dealer prep.

I got an email today with a follow up on my car from the regional PNA rep (second hand info from my dealer) confirming my July build date and stating that the federal certification for US cars would not likely be complete before October. It appears that Porsche has communicated a "party line" to its distribution network, probably trying to manage expectations downward. Who the heck knows what reality will turn out to be. There will be some really irritated folks, me included, if these cars are shipped and sit on US soil for two months awaiting certification. I can't believe they would want to deal with that PR nightmare.

It may just be that the July cars will sit during the August holiday and not get shipped until September for October delivery. Has Porsche started delivering cars in Europe?
