R8!

Saw a Red one at the Glen last week. Sweet. Sounds great. And the thing was moving along pretty good

Keep in mind that Audi will continually improve the R8, thus depreciating the older models. Also, many more R8s will be or have been produced than FGTs. The FGT is no longer made and US made cars like this will likely never be produced again given the state of the US auto industry. Aside from an original GT40 or replica, there is only one FGT version. If you care about resale at all, the FGT will be far superior to any R8.

Agreed... Maybe opt for the GT2? You said you never had a turbo car, and liked mine a bit no? Try it out... If you want to drive mine again let me know, it's crazy sorted now

R8 appears to be a great car, but why bother with dumb friendly AWD in a supercar?

RWD is the way to go (CGT, FGT, Scuderia, GT2, etc.) unless you really plan on some crazy snow/winter driving; in which case I would choose the LP 560-4 anyday over the R8 as it provides the full supercar experience (much lighter) with better soundtrack included.

I would take R8 V10 depending on what the price will be. I hope it is in the $145K range. If it gets closer to the $180K range, then I'll rather have the Gallardo LP560-4. Does anyone have a guess what the R8 V10 will be?

The ford GT is just a whole lotta fun. Retro. Unique in its own way. historic. a keeper.
Prices are getting attractive......

audi will make a replacment for the R8, Ford will not.
Ditto. I don't see the GT going downward too much more in value.

FGT. I'm already tired of R8, and they're gonna continue to make them.

Lot of good comments on this thread. R8 does nothing for me. Makes sense that it will steadily depreciate. FGT is the way to go given your choices, although with your money I just can't see why you aren't looking hard at Ferrari.

Good luck.

Skip the FGT, and skip the Ferrari and go straight to the CGT. It is ultimately the best car, by far.

Of course, I recognize the lure of Ferrari and everyone should at least experience it once (viscerally appealing, but ultimately a compromise)... but if the comparison is a CGT, then the Ferrari feels loose and poorly built (never mind safety considerations, often ignored)!

Again, this is just my opinion based upon multiple ownerships. But, it is an enlightened person who can learn from others experiences. (I wish I had listened)

Porsche (CGT), there is no substitute!
