Default Oil in the Trunk Well ??

Hear is a new one, I have posted some pics of oil in the Trunk well under the carpet lid. I have wiped this up about 3 times. nomally just a little oil it is just a little but this time it was a fair size pool. It looks like brake fluid but I keep a pretty close eye on that and I have not lost any, its always full. I bleed the brakes after every event and twice in the last two two weeks. I have taken out the spare tire fix a flat so that is not it. any other ideas other than brake fluid? Anyone have this happen? I have posted some pics and the towel I cleaned it with.

Yes it is most likely brake fluid. Doesn't take much in a pool like that to look like a lot. Many people wrap their reservoir with a towel to prevent spillage on the track. That does look like a lot though. Is there any wetness on anything else like the ABS pump? I actually saw one of these leaking (and not from a fitting), that was causing this type of leak and did NOT issue any type of warning.

I will pull off the cover and investigate. I had all the plastic off this winter when I installed a tracqmate and did not see any leaking, I did replace a set of rotors at the track and when i compressed the calipers it could have leaked but the reservoir was not low it was still on the max fill line.(that could be rotor thickness difference too, as I think about it. I bet that was it however, I will keep and eye on it, I have wiped up oil from time to time but not this much. I bet i have a leak in addition to this. I will investigate and report.

I always have a lot of brake fluid at the exact same spot. When I am at the track I make sure the reservoir is not too full. Also,a diper around the cap does a great job.

i do use rag around reservoir cap. but if you get that much oil, you over filled.
there's a triangle indicator on the reservoir to show what max is. if you track, fill up the 1/4" below the mark. it will still over flow a bit, but not like that.

If it removes paint it's brake fluid

If not it's some kind of oil....

Does the GT3 have a clutch fluid reservoir in the trunk?

Thanks Mooty I have been filling it to the top of the Max line, apparently to much. Will back it off on the next brake bleed.
