My shifter frequently get's stuck in gear a) when parked, and b) sometimes in gear (1st or 2nd) when rolling at slow speed/low rpms like coming to a parking stop.
The shifter just get's jammed in that particular gear and does not release to neutral. Sometimes blipping the throttle (if the car is still rolling) releases the shifter to neutral, or if the car's at standstill then switching off the motor and restarting it sometimes helps release the stuck shifter.
Otherwise, when driving or standing still, the gear shifts and clutch feel normal.
Any insightful thoughts as to what may be wrong?

sounds like the teeth on the sycros might be a bit dinged up and are catching/binding....best to have it opened up and diagnosed....at the least, pull the plug and see what, if any, metallic shavings are detectable....

Since it's multi gears, I'd say it's clutch related. On my 964 turbo, I had a similiar problem and it was related to a bad throw out bearing and a dry shaft.
On my 993 turbo, also had something similiar and in that case, it turned out to be a bad slave cylinder.
Let us know how it turns out.

Guys, thanks for the inputs. I know it's not the clutch.
Leif - I think we will have to crack open the trans to see what's going on.
But please keep the ideas coming...every new thought helps. Thanks...

Bobby, I'd also have them check the shifter cables and couplers as well. The stock couplers and cables wear pretty quickly if the car sees much track time. Just had mine replaced at 4600 miles and they were definitely due.
