Mooty,
Did your RS have the Perspex (?) rear glass? Does that result in increased noise, vibration, reduced visibility, or longevity? Thanks

How about the ride quality between the gt3 and gt3 rs? Is it the same or is the ride in the RS stiffer?

Thanks for the nice words, Wayward.

Anyway, one other note comes to mind: there is also one very funny paradox with practically any car - the more money you invest into it in terms of tuning it up to your preference, the more money you lose, because you are never ever going to get the money back. When a car is as good as a GT3/RS, you better know for sure that when you get started, you won´t be expecting the next owner to pay it back in the selling price.

In fact, the car that will be most easily sold on will be the car which is completely virgin. Just putting in different pads will wipe off a few tens of percent of potential buyers! And a heavily tuned car will have maybe a few buyers in the entire country, considering that the price should be at least fair...

I have read in some magazine articles that the RS has lesser sound proofing materials inside. To those who have an RS or have rode in an RS, does the lesser sound proofing inside make the interior a whole lot noisier than a regular gt3? Does the RS have a lower ground clearance than the gt3?
where did you see spy pictures of the mk2 RS?

i hear ppl talk of cup car all the time.
if you dont do 20+ days a year, why cup. such a waste. but again YOUR money
if you do 20+ days a year, that's about $10k just on slicks. (2000/set for 4 days)
so be prepared for the cost.
also, if you drive a cup even at 50% of it's capability, you will hit traffic literally every other turn on every track you grace. that's not very fun. now if you race, then it's different. but then if you raced, you wont be buying RS.

and you have to trailer the cup.

so most rational is GT3.
most emotional is RS
most sensible and $ for racers: cup
for the truly insane, buy all three.

if you find my post strange, read it again, it will eventually make sense.

emo=RS. I'm on that step now I think.
got the GT3. its either staying a street car or going full guts race car.

1. no one keeps their car forever. i know b/c i used to say to myself, this one is a keeper. i am still looking for keeper

2. if you really will keep it, the RS is better buy. it may be 20-30k more, but if you keep it 30-40 years, and amortize the 20-30k difference over the time you keep it, it's not much $... but will you keep it forever?

lawjdc, I saw it somewhere posted in this forum too. MJSpeed just posted the picture in this thread so there you go.

mooty, thanks again for answering my questions. I probably will keep the car for a long time, but I dunno maybe I might end up changing my mind about it in the long term just like you said about your experience. Ok, so for now it seems like RS is the way to go hahaha!

Sure does. Isn't it great?

Porsche has tacked pieces on some of their best stuff. The ducktail on the original 911RS come to mind...

I love everything from the front bumper back. The front feels a bit heavy handed. Also remind me too much of the 996 turbo, which I wasn't much of a fan of.
