- smaller engines with much lighter cars may be coming

What's a "Caymen" ... is that a four door, four seat Cayman? ... actually might have been a better name than Panamera ...

I can't believe it. Audi has a prototype S5, 300 lbs lighter than a GT3 RS.

Since Porsche owns audi, maybe we'll see lighter cars from them. As much as I love Porsche, it offends the hell out of me that a Corvette is lighter and faster (dammit).

Corvettes aren't all bad. Sound of the exhaust is nicer IMO and it has loads of torque. You are likely to see it this summer on some nice Thursday in Hawkesbury.

The ladies seem to like the yellow C5 vert I have better than the Porsches.

Lighter Porsches would be good.

It has been increasingly suggested as the direction for the car industry in recent times for fuel efficiency etc... The lighter part is great... The smaller engine part may be a problem as it has been widely suggested that forced induction (turbos) will be used to achieve this in the future... The linear responsiveness of the NA engine maybe on the way out in the years to come...

Wipe half a liter of displacement and slap a couple of turbos on a cayman and sure the hp will be 400+ but how will the power come on? Probably be more like a gt2 to master on track rather than a gt3....??

Yup, need to lose mass by getting rid of the junk features in the sports car models. GT3 should have been that way to start with.

Nah ... I just cruise with the old school dance music cranked and rock to the beat like these guys ...

The Vette is fun once in awhile.
