I have Factory GT3 RS rollbar that we modified for a customer with a standard GT3. We reduced the height of the front legs so that it fits perfectly in a standard GT3. It retains the lower mounting bracked on the legs and was bolted into the car so there are NO welds or blemishes on the lower legs or brackets. We also powder coated the bar with black krinkle finish to give a little texture, and great durability. Cost of a new bar that only fits a GT3 RS is appox. $2300. This bar is $1200 (plus shipping).

I believe Njgt had a 997 rs rollbar placed in his old 6gt3 wo issues with installation. Don't ask me if front part would fit but should. Say it ain't so u added a sunroof to your 6 gt3. Mike

It fits, and the front members fit. You need to find those front member somewhere, because dealers don't carry them.

Check with Rhonda at FVD-USA for the front members.

Rad does rs rollbar rattle at all- heard that it does. Doesnt bother me just va122 et al may not like it. Mike

It rattles a lot. There are too many bolts in there. Sounds like carrying steel pipes to the hardware store.

I had it in my 996 GT3, and I regret. The one in my 997 RS is quiet, you don't even notice it's there.

The RS has a TCDesign rollbar.

So va122- solid engine mounts with rs bar- mite sound harsher. Thanks rad for the info. U may opt to have tcdesign fabricate one for u- itll be a much better safety device. Mike

Congrats, I know you were talking about getting one ever since you set foot in this place. Have fun and hope you do well at the targa....... Keep the shiny side up and don't ram somebody's house with it
