Some new GT3 guys might care about this so I thought I would
compare the tire wear I had on my 996 410 Manthey GT3 and my 997 GT3 and the C63.
The 996 had the PS2 tire . I got 8500 miles with a couple trips to the
track. I thought that was good my wife went nuts! and told me to get a tire
with more wear. I ordered another set of PS2's.
The 997 came with PSCups and woah and behhold at 4000 miles they were gone with a couple trips to Cal Speedway Playing Mr Nascar and 140 and planted.
Wife went Freaking off her rocker and told me to get a tire that got 30000k
I got another set of Pilot Sport 2's sold the car
The C63 came with 255 Pirelli PZeros 255's!!!!!! The car has 500hp!!
Gone at 1700 miles!!! with a wear rating of 280 just like the PS2's!!
Wife gave up and I am ordering new tires when I get done posting.
On a 911 I live by scripture to keep the set of four tires the same make and model. With this car I dont think it matters as all I am doing is feeding it rubber.

1,700 miles? I told you that was a heavy car.
The M3 V8 has two autocrosses, over 4,000 miles and rear tires (Michelin PS2 265mm) look fresh.
I put new MPSC on the RS when I got it. 4,000 miles later, the rear tires still have meat for 1 track day, but I decided to put new ones, front ones are good. They got 3 track days, 4 autocrosses, and many street miles. Not bad for a 3,300 lbs car

My wife knew about the 2 new rear tires I bought shortly after getting my used 996. However, she doesn't know about the 2 full sets of tires I put on the car in 2.5 years after that.
I figure, what she doesn't know won't hurt me!

I tried to do a burnout once. The car breaks loose all the time in Sport mode on the tranny and the ESP in sport which is how I drive it.
there in no alignment problem, wear is even on both side, and nothing is wrong. Its pretty common and many people have the same problem on the C63AMG site. ALOT of guys were just going nuts as this was their first performance car. I expect 4k but I would have to drive it like Granny. I have not yet tracked it.
I was planning too, and now my back is much better I am looking for an opportunity. Willow Springs or Buttonwillow this spring. I will have to talk to RAD and see what hes up too.
I am also thinking about a 996 TT.

OG,
I wonder if it is hp, weight of car, RWD, or spec of the tires that is contributing to your rapid tire wear.
For comparison, my CTT is 500hp, >5000 pounds, but AWD, tires at >5000 miles with no signs of wear. I'm using Toyo Proxes ST.

Old Guy,
That's not bad mileage. Top Gear tested the C63, RS4 and M3. Clarkson got less than 100 miles in the C63 before the belts were showing in the tires.
(Hopefully some Top Gear nut will clear up my rusty memory.)
