got go ahead for 2011 Pcar or...Fcar?
prices have come down so much lately I am thinking of trading my AMG in on another Pcar. Wifey gave me the go ahead for 2011. My back seems to be fixed so even with my tendancies to go 80% street or more whould you guys go TT?
Prices on Fcars have come into play on 360s and maybe an audi R8
Given discounts on cars are getting deep and some dealerships are going bankrupt so outstanding deals will be available in the next 18 months to 24 months or longer, in this performance range and prices. I need to start thinking about what I want to do. I would like to order a GT3 RS if they dont have the $50K markups again.
Any ideas?

You can't go wrong with the 360 or R8 but what about a 550 Maranello or Ford GT? I still can't get over the looks of those two cars. I haven't driven either one but I'm sure neither could handle like a GT3rs. I like the idea of a Maranello (for myself) because prices have come down quite a bit on the 550 and 575 and they appear to be comfortable GT cars with some flash. I don't think I could get into the seat of a GT comfortably or gracefully but it gets my emotions going.

With your back....you need to sit in whatever you're thinking about...you already know a 997 fits you well from your GT3. It all depends on how you want to drive it. I love Fcars, but the cost of service is just plain stupid. Be interesting to see how Porsche QC holds over the next year or so, you've already read of RMS issues on GT3/RS and stories from time to time on their push back on warranty work. One thing is for sure, if you've got the budget, in 18 months you'll have the pick of the litter of 360s & 430's, 7GT3RS, GT2s, TTs etc. etc.
BTW, the 7TT is really a very brilliant piece of kit for the street....must have PCCBs though.

The turbo? I drove a 2007 or 2008 that was broken in back to back with my broken in GT3. It felt like a girly car compared to the GT3. All of the controls were soft and easy, and it was not nearly as precise. Also, the power delivery was not linear at all (turbos can be linear), and the 6800 rpm redline is really boring. I would buy a new 2009 Carrera S before I would buy a turbo; or a Cayman with Sharky's 370 kit!
Go for the GT3 RS if you can get one at MSRP or close to it. You know you will love it, and it will be trouble free with a great warranty.

To this day I consider purchasing a Ferrari. However, due to their fickle nature and outrageous maintenance costs, pre 360, the Porsche always wins. In my 4 years of attending track events I have yet to see a single Ferrari being used in the manner it was designed. I have several friends that own 360's but rarely drive them. The 15k service is around $8k. I guess that this is a major reason that most, not all, Ferrari's are designated to be garage queens. As an Italian, Ferrari is a national symbol of pride, but as a practical enthusiast the Ferrari is a poor choice. In addition, if you suffer from back problems, you will not be able to enter or exit the car since the driving position is practically supine (lying down). My next purchase is a GT3 for dedicated track use and maybe followed by an F430 that looks beautiful in my garage.

Looking at the change in the style of cars you have bought, if it is within your target range; a 599.
The car at least says, "I don't have to prove anything."

Paul,
Since you have owned/driven most top of the line Porsches, I would go Ferrari. That exhaust note, even at idle, is simply sublime. Truly nothing else like it.
Repeat after me: Merritt is a SAINT.
