Default Help Needed: How to remove accelerator pedal?

I will be intalling the Rennline pedals, and was wondering if the OEM pedal comes off? The accelerator and pedal seems to be one unit. Anyone remove, or just drilled right into the pedal?? Thank you in advance!

Default Pedal install

The Rennline pedal comes with the install instructions that include how to remove the factoy pedal to do the drilling. If memory serves, you pull on the top of the pedal and it unsnaps from the electonic part. Then you unscrew the bottom pedal plate and slide the pedal to the side (don't remember direction)
while holding a snap latch closed. The snap latch prevents the pedal from sliding out of the pivot point, I believe. After removal, look at back side of pedal for the possible interference problems with the nuts and the electronic part. The pedal has a lot of strengthening ribs on the back to watch out for also. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response. I was also under the impression that the pedal needed to be removed, but the instructions from Rennline states to drill and mount directly onto the OEM pedal. I will check with them. Anyone else have any suggestions?

FWIW, when I put in a similar pedal set with my 6GT3 my shop said the new accelerator pedal was mounted on top of the existing pedal, so no pedal removal. But the 7 might be different. Call Alex at Sharkwerks for his advice. They did mine.

i just put mine right on top of the existing gas pedal - offset a little to the left so it would be closer for easier heal toe.

If i remember, take out the 3 rubber grommets where the screws go, offset rennline pedal as much to the left for easier heal toe but not too much that it would endanger the three screws from doing their work, wedge body into an uncomfortable position for drilling, also make sure by offsetting to the left that the drill bit can go through rubber but not hit metal behind, "drill, drill, drill" takes 10seconds, attach pedal with body in various contorted positions, stand up stretch back, remove dirt from knees, if you have to do it outside for better light and the neighbour sees you, try and have something funny to say that doesn't make you sound like a boy racer

I posted some pictures of my installation on my Turbo here:

The gas pedal and dead pedal go ON TOP of the existing pedals.
For the clutch and brake, you peel off the OEM "tips" first, then install the Rennline.

FWIW, I have both of the options listed: the adjustable lifter plate and throttle extension. I particularly like the throttle extension. It allows me to place right foot in between the 2 pedals and very simply tilt the foot left or right for brake or accel -- it works very well as far as heel-toeing particularly because my PCCB brake bites very high. Lazy I know but I've never had more fun with downshifting on freeway exits.
