from an engineering standpoint I am concerned about the spokes not having any cross-reinforcement prior to single point attachment to the barrel. Traditional 2-3 pieces wheels will have a 1pc center whose spokes end in an integral hoop which then can transmit loads across the circumference of the hoop then to the barrel of the wheel. This design has no such hoop other than the CF barrel. Now dissimilar materials have different modulus of elasticity and expansion rates, all which can lead to stresses and microfractures in the materials. While the concept of a superlight wheel is great, I would personally sacrifice a pound or two on the wheel for a 1 pc forged alu design and take more weight savings by choosing lighter tires which will have a greater inertial impact.

The carbon hoop cannot be compared to an aluminium hoop. The integral strength within the carbon means that you do not need an integral hoop in the centre, which is necessary with aluminium as the aluminium hoop relies on the centre for support. I will answer this in more detail over the next few days, but fundamentally the wheel has been designed taking into account the issues raised. We have been designing lightweight magnesium, aluminium and carbon wheels for over 30 years for applications from F1 to rally to military. We know what we are doing! - famous last words ?

Khalid, agreed that picture looks awesome but I am leaning towards the platinum silver as I feel there is enough dark stuff going on with the tyre and the carbon rim and feel the black chrome will be "lost" when I think I would prefer the contrast of the brighter silver..... thanks for the feedback

I have had the backing of Rennworx (now Wheel Enhancement), and I am certain that they will contact me when the spoke stress issue is addressed with current owners.

Actually, I got the charcoal colored spokes. I have had the Dymags for 5 months (3,000+ miles), and they have been flawless. No loss of air experienced.

I would hate to agree with eclou here, given his political views
But he has made a good point about the potential material properties issues associated with the Dymags. I also have friends who have had leakage issues with these wheels, although the company has done a great job being responsive to any problems that customers have encountered.
I run the old HRE 21 competition wheels, which are about 21 lbs each, as well as some light, custom-made Fiskes on my 911 GT3RS. I like the idea of magnesium and carbon fiber, but they are both more susceptible to damage IMHO...

As WHB Porsche states, the charcoal coloured one's compliments the GT Silver well. A lighter coloured centre will make the tyre/wheel combo look 'rimless' IMO.
