Default Valentine V1 Install

Don't shout SEARCH. I have and can't find what I am after.

I am new around here and have just changed my 05 M3 for a 08 GT3 and could not be happier. Now I just want to save the license.

I have bought a V1 detector and want to wire it in to the centre reading lights. I have seen many posts on this but all of them either have a dimming mirror or a sun roof. My GT3 has neither, and hence my question

Is there a way to install the V1 to a regular light pod or do I have to run it off the fuse box.

Any help would be appreciated.

I took mine to the Porsche dealer, and they hardwired it from the fuse box. The wire comes out on the top of the windshield near the center lights. Its neat, out of the way, and was professionally done. The charge was very reasonable, less than $100 as I recall. Im not sure why you would want to risk the electronics in your new GT3 with a mickey mouse installation. IMHO

Have your dealer (or a reputable installer) run the wire up the A pillar. There is always a switched fuse location in the box; or you can piggyback on an existing switched fuse (contacts are made for this purpose)

Fair call guys - the fuse box probably is the more sensible install

Thanks for input

I did mine from the fuse box in the driver's side footwell also.

It's a simple DIY. Run cord in space between dash molding, up A-pillar to center lights.

Inconspicuous and works well.

Here's how I did mine. A simple search could have uncovered this for you much earlier.
