dealer called must replace pully and bolt
last week i had the rms issiue arrise and i upgrated to the lwf and rs clutch all is fine yesterday the dealership called and said they just got a bulliten from porsche not to do this mod(the lwfw and clutch) not sure about weather or not they say to do or not.
but they went on to say that porsche wants them now to take the car in and replace the pully and to do some type of mesurement as to how the bolt seats and to figure if the bolt also have to be replaced.
so they ordered the parts and told me that they will do this as soon as the parts arrive.i don't know if their is going to be additional charges or not.
i thought that this was where the problem arrose when they also installed the rs pullys and that they were having problems with something to do with the bolt looseing up and causeing a break down.
anyone know about this?

as far as I know...the breakdowns occured on cars that had the lwfw mod and did not change to the RS pulley or at least check the pulley bolt to see if it was loose to begin with

My techs told me pulley will fly off if you don't replace it with the RS pulley. Some dealers know about it and do it, and some don't. I was told that LW pulleys are in short supply.

Very interesting, especially the part about lack of warranty coverage.

Looks like there is more to the RS than meets the eye!
But I already knew that from my own concurrent ownership/driving experiences with the GT3 and RS on a back to back basis (and said so on these sites).
Porsche is of the opinion that you can't turn a GT3 into an RS, now why is that surprising? No warranty is a pretty big stick, so who will take that risk? It seems like a bad bet given the potential downside.
Reminds me of the old debates about how the RSA was no better than a C2 coupe, but time and driving experiences put the lie that theory as well.
For all you RS owners, I guess the extra $17K got you a lot more than the physical differences.. and a warranty.
Enjoy your cars!
