Default Windshield Chips

I have picked up about 4 or 5 deep chips in my windshield. not so deep that they are starting to spider, but they might. Has anyone used any kind of a repair product on the glass that fills in the chips and makes them less visible. How hard was it and how well did it work??

u can buy those repair kits in places like kragen.
the key is to suck out the air in the crack or craters and inject the epoxy. every time i do it, it would not work. there's a person at my dealer who charges 60 bux for each hit. once she fixed it, it's good as new. i can't see the orig crater at all. so it does work, you just need to do it right.

when done well, it's worth the money. i have 6 or so craters over 16 months. and the glass looks as good as new.

60 bucks a hit? Wow. It's $10 each around here and works very well.

they do it for free out here.... insurance companies pay with no deductible and no increase in rate.
I have GEICO with a $50 deductible for a replacement which I have done so 3 times.

Sadly allstate has a $500 deductible on my glass.... needless to say I'm waiting for one crack to get considerably worse along with the a number of chips and I basically only drive the car to and from the track and never follow trucks but we have a lot of construction in the area.

The windshield is just made of the cheapest glass possible, live with the chips :P

Thanks, I ordered one of those kits, if it looks like its over my head, I will call someone to see if they can do it right.
