Default GT3 oem wheels

I did a search online, but could not find new pricing.
I am looking for black ones and so would sell my silver ones.

How much do they cost new?
Do the OEM ones come in black, or are they painted?

What would my silver ones be worth used, in new condition without tires?

For the GT3 sizes, and possibly even the RS sizes, they order them in silver and paint them from what I last heard. I had mine painted by a good body shop in the same black that Porsche uses. You could also go with powdercoating which I kind of wish I had done. The powdercoat is much more chip resistant and I can get it done for about $300.00.

Gloss black powdercoating makes the silver GT3 wheels appear exactly as the RS wheels do. Make sure you put $$$ in your budget for the factory black center caps with the colored Porsche crest. If you are a real perfectionist, you will purchase the factory black caps first, then match the powdercoating to the black on the center caps.

I think I found some slightly damaged black ones. A perfectionist, I am not. Cheap I am ;-)

It is more difficult to match powdercoating than it is painting. Instead, I would do just the opposite. Have them powdercoated and then have your center caps painted in black with the GT3 designation painted in silver (or white, or whatever you choose). I had this done to my center caps and they came out perfect. Of course I had the wheels painted, so it was an easy match.

But to do custom powdercoating colors; it can be done but is not nearly at common, or easy to do as paint to match. Also, if you do a custom powdercoat and you want the wheels gloss, they will likely do two coats of powdercoat. There is a clear gloss powdercoat finish, and it is what was used on my Riviera Blue wheels. So they did a 2-stage powdercoating finish which is even thicker and tougher!

Finally, the owner of Wheel Enhancements (is it Mike; sorry I forgot) had mentioned to me that powdercoating can add as much as half a pound of weight per wheel. He is correct. On my 18" CCW C-14's, the 9" wide fronts went up by 0.3 - 0.4 lbs each, and the rear went up 0.6 lbs each! So about an extra 2 lbs total of additional unneccesary unsprung rotational mass!
