DURABILITY OF PCCB??
im in the market for a GT3 with PCCB, and people have been suggesting to me that the rotors may be prone to shattering when in contact with loose road gravel?
Is this the case? are they really that sensitive? Can they really brake if an accidental stone becomes lodged in them??
If so, can yellow PCCB calipers be used with steel rotors as a subsitute?
looking for knowledge and suggestions on this.

They are fine. Yes you can lose a rotor to a rock in an off the track excursion but thats rare
and I havent heard of anyone buy maybe one guy in the last 4 years.
the low down is this if you are going to track 30 days or more a year, then you would probably be better with iron. If you change your pads religiously you still may be OK.
if You are going to be doing less than once a month then PCCBs are fine. But even so if your yellow calipers will work on iron replacement rotors.

thanks, i just completed a tarmac rally last week which had loose gravel from the shoulders spilled onto the pavment. This causes some concern for me if im using PCCB in these corners under hard braking and fast exiting to long straights. A shattered rotor on paved road rallying would be quite dangerous methinks, especially at 120 mph +
