Default 997 GT3 Crankshaft pulley

This is a first time post. Following my first RMS replacement on my '07 GT3,
I traveled to beautiful Road America for a driving event. During the 4th session of the day the bolt that holds the crankshaft pulley on the crankshaft backed out at about 140 MPH on the front straight. Needless to say power steering went and the car got hot.

Anyone ever experienced a crankshaft pulley bolt backing itself out of the crankshaft on a GT3?

Did the dealer re use the same bolts after the RMS replacement? My understanding is that once removed they are tossed out and new ones are used.

that's absolutely correct.
someone long ago posted that the dealer tested the TQ on his bolt. my dealer said, you cannot test it. by testing it you are over tq it. they just removed the old bolt and installed a new one on my car and made sure it's torque to book value and that's that. do not re torque it or re use it.

FYI, my never had prob. but i wanted a new bolt to be sure.

Many of us have had the same problem. I ended up spending the night in my car on a lonley stretch of Hwy-1 on a 30 degree Dec night.

Is there anyway to inspect for this before it happens?

I dunno Mooty with a good torque wrench you should be able to achieve a specific torque everytime without overtorquing, otherwise engine builders would be overstretching head studs and rod bolts with each assembly. Same as everytime I check my lug torque.

Is loctite OK? I thought Alex mentioned that he uses that when he does a LWFW? Or he just recommended it if you are paranoid; I can't remember exactly what he said.

Have the bolts backed out only after a RMS replacement, or are they prone to falling out anyways?
We have been put back together with new bolts and a hydraulic cam chain tensioner which apparently was also a casualty from the event. The car seems fine and headed back to Mid-Ohio. Hopefully, it will stay together.
