Paul,

That's a smoking deal. My co-worker just bought one for $46k and he thought he had a nice score. At $48.5k sticker (MSRP?), I wonder what the invoice number is? Would you happen to know?

Pong I believe we were 4 K UNDER invoice. Remember BMW subsidized this car because it had sat for 120 days. We had come to a halt (No Deal) 5 times in 3 days so they knew they had to work. I Actually thought about a 328 because its Merritts car. BUT we could NOT get a 328 at the same price!! How wierd is that!!!! But because the car had sat they had to get rid of the car. There were 3 cars that had incentive money. All 335is. I asked about a 528 or 535 because there were SEVERAL 5 series cars that were CHEAPER than the car we bought. BUT they had not sat.

I see. So it is not an across-the-board deal, but particular cars only. I wonder why would the 335is sit as they seem to be very popular. But then what do I know.

YES certain cars in different colors dont sell as well couple that with the economy and you get certain cars that dont sell -the three that didnt were Red over tan. Black on Black and the Silver over gray. I can undertand the other two but SILVER?
ANYONE can get these deals. You have to know your dealer. BMW gives HIM the money to do as he wishes. He can keep part of it and give the customer, keep ALL of it, or he can keep some of the three cars and give it all to one customer. Its all up to the relationship you and your dealer have. How much he wants to sell THAT car to YOU.
If youre interested let me know I will hook you up. You know I will.

Allgretto that is correct. I think you can get the .9 on the AUDI RS4. But the .9 for BMW was for
the 3 series 5 series and the 1 series. No M's. But I think he would have worked something for me.
The General manager and my CA are HUGE Porsche fans and they drool everytime I bring the GT3 over to the dealership. I have given them both rides. The General manager and I both like to talk Breitling too.

Actually, you can get 0.9% on the M5, if I am not mistaken.

That is nothing new, as a matter of fact , trunk money has been around for a minimum of twenty years. Domestic manufacturers have it too.

What P dealership did your guy work at ? I can find out pretty quick if he is any good or if he is just a price seller/order taker which looks, at least to me ,he is. But if you like him that is all what counts.

I got the 335i $3k under when it was just released (February 2007). The M3, $7k under sticker, it was $72k (every option other than 19"), got it for $65k. BMW is really trying to move cars right now.

A fully loaded 2005 E46 M3 with SMG and Competition package was close to $70k.

I have seen E46 M3 on electronic scales over 3,600 lbs. I had an E36 M3 for two years, have driven multiple E46 M3 at autocrosses. My 1995 E36 M3 was a 3,250 lbs car (and it had a sunroof). 13 years later BMW adds a little over 300 lbs and people complain about weight. Well, Porsche added more than 400 lbs to the 911 comparing the 1995 Carrera RS 3.8 to the 2008 911 GT3 RS, and the overweighted 7RS sold immediately.

In the attached specs, R&T weighed the E92 M3 at 3,565 lbs. The Audi RS4 weighs 400 lbs more than the E92 M3. The E39 M5 weighs almost 500 lbs more than the E92 M3.

The E92 M3 feels lighter than the E46 M3. It doesn't push as the E46 M3, it accelerates extremely well. A carbon roof, a lighter engine, and plenty of configurations possible (an independent) for engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and electronic aids. At the track it will crush the E46M3 and E36 M3 all day long. But it is not a track car, it is a really nice daily driver

It would be nice if/when they extend it they include the M3...maybe by the end of next month, I will have made a decision.

I dont mind paying low 40s for the 335i and the M3 wouldnt be bad. BUT to be honest I would
try a RS 4 First and if I could get a comparable deal I would get that RS4 THEN the M3 depending on the
deal The RS4 sounded and looked better to me and had more goodies.
RS4 is way nice but... engine mass so far forward makes this a handling pig. It pushes through corners so badly it feels as if the tire is rolling off the wheel.
So, it would be nice to own, if one drove semi-fast. But then what is the point of buying an RS4 if not to drive fast?
I do love the engine note and driver ergonomics but would not buy it.

To each his own. Personally, I have no interest in the M3, and I'm their target market. The only E90/E92 that remotely interests me is the upcoming 335d. 265hp and 425lb/ft torque along with 30mpg...that will make for a great daily driver, even if it does have questionable styling.
