OT new watch

Nordschleife Master
Having owned a 5070 I can tell you that there's nothing "understated"about it. 42 mm and a wide bezel are a but "over the top" for me and I sold it. Though if I'd have kept it its worth would make me smile I guess.
The 5960 is a little better, but having seen it first hand I'm not that enamored.
OTOH, their dress pieces are peerless!

The relationship between Porsche owners and fine watches always makes me wonder why Porsche dealerships don't have a high end watch boutique in-house.

I tend to go for the one off type watch and this is pretty cool. The company I found restored original Valjoux 92 calibres dating from the 50s I think. They got something like 100 of these movements. It is a rose gold with an alligator strap....it makes for a good story and it is an awesome watch.....only 100 or so available worldwide. I worked with a buyer in Virginia to get it. Of course ya cant' beat the panerai

A good point if you mean that discretionary spending is meant to please the individual. Stuff. In the immortal words of Carlin, "we're spending money we don't have to buy stuff we don't need. Not bright, kiddo." But hopefully by the time we're buying GT3's or expensive wristwatches, we're not choosing between the necessities and the indulgences. As for havling drawers full of watches, well, they're not like socks, you know, they don't wear out and you don't need so many. It's interesting to read about the psychology of collecting.

This is probably an unusual one but I thought it would match a GT3 really well.. (I have the watch, but not the GT-3 yet, my dream car!)
Sinn 142 St S
Sinn is a German brand. It is no nonsense design, first automatic watch to be in the space, the 142 was issued to the German special force GSG-9 for its robustness. (I think the automatic movement can stand the most shock compare to the others..) The movement (5100) was designed to be tough, so it is not a pretty movement.. no decoration, actually, a lot of parts are made of plastic, so from the watch purists' point of view, it might not be "up there", but to me, it is very Porsche-like.. this ain't no garage queen!
