Sell it to a (very trustworthy!!!!!) friend for a nominal fee. Then buy it back after the dust settles.

Make it worth his while by doubling his money, or offering him some track time. To your wife's attorney, the car and the money are the same thing.

Sorry to hear that. Selling to a friend isn't a bad idea if you want to get the car back after everything is finalized, but I'd be careful about being too tricky with the prices lest the lawyers have something to complain about. But hey, a year old car? There's gotta be some depreciation from MSRP in there...
