Default HRE C93's on 6GT3 and 7RS

OK, it's not **** but Sharky and I did spend a fair amount of hot & heavy phone time talking about all the wheel options for the cars. Could not control myself, had to go for the bling factor with polished lips, but these new-to-market HRE C93's are pretty nice. Knocked 30 pounds off the GT3 and 32 pounds off the GT3RS - nice to whack that kind of unsprung rotating mass off the cars.

CJ, 19's all the way around. Those 19" sport cups work fine for me at my rather sluggish track-day pace so staying with the stock sizing.

I absolutely LOVE IT. Here is another GT3 from a member on 6speed, who's car i'm actually loving and might get into (HRE C20's) Although I am loving the C93's too.

That car looks really good! The C93's weight about 1 pound less per wheel, otherwise pretty much the same.

Nice 30 lbs. What finish is that in the center of the GT3?
Also how are you liking the RE050A's on the GT3? Do you use them for Daily grind? How about in the wet?
Aloha.

Glittering charcoal centers on the GT3. The RE050's are great for the daily driving and that's exactly how I use that car. Worked just fine this past winter in the wet, too. I pulled the sport cups to wear out on RS track days.

Nice setup! Considering the C-series for my car, too...but maybe non-polished.

The only downside to the R050As is that they weigh about 2 lbs more than the pirellis or PS2s...but with all of the weight off on the wheels still a great upgrade!

Hey Peloton, as always it was a pleasure and now the issue is yours newer version of the Competition's are a pound lighter than mine:P That white car has really trimmed out a bit... GT3 seats, exhaust, wheels... Over 100 pounds in that line-up!

Those C93s look great on your cars! I do like them in 19s. I choose to go with 18s for the track. Picked them up yesterday. Mounted Nitto NT-01s 315 and 245s. Front Tire diameter is close to factory, Rear is about 5/8" smaller.

Fit and finish of HREs is outstanding. Worth the wait. No driving or track experience yet. I went with polished lip so I can polish it again after the inevitable sand blasting from track sand etc.

Regarding weight:
Current Factory 19s with MPSC with 3880 miles
Front 45 lb
Rear 54 lb

HRE C93 18" with Nittos (no wear, not shaved)
Front 45 lb
Rear 52 lb

Not much weight savings with Nittos Maybe new tire vs new tire would be different, maybe MPSC 18 vs. MPSC 19 would show more significant weight loss. Maybe this info will help some one out later.

Peloton,
I see you are using the Porsche OEM Lug Bolts instead of the HRE supplied Bolts in chrome. Curious about what made you choose the OEM? I do notice the OEM bolts are a sophisticated two piece design.

Kevin -

Good question, one that I covered in one of my wheel **** phone calls with Sharky. The OEM bolts are about 3mm shorter than the ones supplied by HRE but still put plenty of thread into the hub, if that might be one downside to them. But, they look a lot better IMO, they have the one pseudo-locking bolt, and I thought the HRE bolts in chrome are the one weak, albeit very minor, part of their kit. Hope this answer helps. I was also going to put my OEM Porsche crest center caps on the HRE's, as they fit on the C93 model, but decided that getting the word out by id'ing the wheels as HRE with their caps would be recognition that the HRE craftsmen deserve.

10-4

I also prefer the HRE center cap. The OEM bolts look nice with your Silver-grey centers. Lock is a good idea.

Congrats again on your purchase and You certainly have a garage to be envied! Hopefully we will run into each other at the track.
