Yup, it finally happened. I have about 3,700 miles on my car and found some oil on the garage floor yesterday. It ended up being the FMS!
Actually, I forgot the exact term for this, but it is on the other side of the crank, opposite the RMS.
I guess it is a much easier fix and I will get my car back today.
Does anybody know the exact part I am talking about? I will ask my mechanic when I pick up the car today or tomorrow; but I am pretty sure he said it was on the other side of the crank, opposite the rear main seal.
Has his happened to anyone else or did I just make history?

Unfortunately, you are not the first on a 997 GT3.

The front main seal basically seals the crankcase at the front of the engine were the crankshaft extends to the main pulley.
It is easier to fix as the they only have to pull off the rear bumper and center exhaust to get access to the front of the engine.

hey stephen... try using the parts we listed. Honestly, the 996GT3, TT and 997TT all use that part instead of the crappy teflon one we have on ours. Those cars leak so rarely... if ever.
