'7 GT2 annihilates Z06

Sure, the test was far from ideal. But BOTH cars were subjected to those suboptimal conditions, by the same driver...and the GT2 simply slaughtered the vette, by much more than would be expected.
Impressive, in its limited context.

Totally disagree.
The GT2 should be matched against the ZR-1, not the Z06 anyway. I'm sure the ZR-1 will beat the GT2 in a straight line, but I would still rather have a GT2. It will be interesting to see some of the first ZR-1 tests; there should be some records broken for a stock production car I would think.

I just got the new c&d and the GT-R does 0-60 in 3.3 yikes. interested to see their numbers for the gt2.

Yet above 100 was marginally slower then the 997tt and z06. Electronics and awe do wonder for 60 mph sprints, but who cares about 0-60 ?

I care about lap times and the GTR is faster than a GT3 and a Turbo on a track. But the GT2 is fastest.

997 Turbo 7.54
997 GT3RS 7.48
997 GT2 7.33
GTR unofficial time on a wet track is 7.50. HsV estimates about 7.45 (or less) on a dry track.
And that fatugly Nissan is possibly the fastest car in the world on a wet back road.

And Porsche claims 7.40 for the Turbo. But we cannot take manufacturer claims too seriously. Sport Auto provides the most credible Ring comparisons with the least variables. But there will be no official Sport Auto GTR time till it goes on sale in Germany in March 09.
However, in the hands of average trackers, rather than professionals, the GTR will be faster that just about anything for a few laps - until the weight overwhelms its brakes and tires.
