put on new tires now. at least the rears. the last thing you need is a blow out on a high speed corner.

Ditto, I wouldnt risk it at high speed. Saw a video a year or so ago of an RS on a straight, blowout, then instantly into a violent spin.

I had a blow out due to a bead one my front right tire. It only had 700 miles on the tire and it was the first track day of the year. Not fun and I was on a straight.

The rear temps are:

31 cold

39 hot after 20-30 minutes of second and third gear canyon driving - in Mexico of course.

The tires still stick well.

Any track is a good hour away from me and I don't have a trailer. I was thinking of taking a pair of rears with me in the back seat.

My question again, how much more rubber is there before the cords show? I'm well past the wear marker.

The car has factory settings. All my Porsches wear tires like this. It's my driving style. I don't want to give up camber, I need it in turns.

drop your cold track pressures down to 27 front and 26 rear, or 28 and 27...should really help you slow the wear down, and get more grip throughout the day...I've found at my home track the ideal 'hot' temps are in the 35-37 range for best front enter and rear exit grip

I have one good Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tire with 5/32nds in my garage.

Anyone have another one for sale or trade one for two Michelin PS2s? I have two rear sets of those with 7/32nds left.

I agree with Leif. I usually get 40 heat cycles out of cups and they are corded and destroyed. Bad tires will teach you to drive. Mooty is also right about 15 heat cycles and they are no longer sticky. You need a second set of wheels with fresh rubber allways with you if you want to error beond the side of caution. But allways have fun.

I'll try the lower pressure.

My local track has concrete walls along some of the turn exits....makes me want to have good tires on all the time.

I would just change them, better safe than sorry.
