GT3 "stereo"
#33
My GT2 stereo is the worst thing ever, 2 speakers and crackling sound lol, but the rest of the car makes up for it. I would be pissed in your case although, especially for an upgraded sound package!

So a stereo is superfluous in a GT3, but aircon, power windows, carpeting... that's all ok? How about PASM? And the worst offender of all - the vile and evil Sport button?
Truth is, the GT3 has a difficult job to do - combining racecar dynamics and low weight with comfort, safety and bling. It's not easy appealing to enthusiasts and the gold chain set all at once. Which is why I'm still in a 996.

PAG needs to make money rather than catering to strange ppl like us. we will see more and more of "unnecessary" stuff on future cars. with that in mind, PAG did a great job with 997GT3. not perfect, but it does allow SOME peace b/n the gold chain type and the track junkies.
i wish PCNA imported the 996GT3 RS.

I have driven one of Thusly's 996GT3RS-clones on the track. Oh my! Getting back into my own "street" GT3 for hot laps after that was a real downer... You ROW guys are very lucky!

no i have not. but i have had a lot of miles on 996GT3 and that felt special too. so i can only predict the 6gt3 RS is even more than then normal USA non RS cars.

i have driven both and...
what a shame, the 996 RS is as fast as the 997!
Porsche really need to work hard for their facelift GT3!

What was wrong with the way it was pre-997? A not-too-loud regular exhaust with the option of a sports exhaust. The problem was that Ferrari and Lambo went loud. Oh well... I guess that's "progress".
