Default RS Gear shift and Wheels

Couple of questions. After ~3000 miles, the gear box on my '07 GT3 RS still feels "notchy." Is this normal or should this be shifting smoother by now?
Are the MPSC tires for the RS directional? I can't see any arrows or writing on the tires indicating such and assume that they are not. I purchased a set of silver OEM RS wheels and found that the front wheels with tires weigh 6 pounds more than the orange wheels. Haven't weighed the rears yet but suspect that will weigh more also.

It will stay notchy. 12k miles here and 2-3 upshift still the notchiest. Normal.

Silver, orange and black wheels should all weigh the same...are the tires that much heavier?

Tires on both sets of wheels are the same-MPSC's. The tires on the orange wheels have ~ 3000 miles and 4 track days fom last year. The silver wheel tires are brand new. I can't see how this would account for the difference in weight.

6# difference would mean that the new ones you bought may not be OEM. The stockers are about 25# front and 31# rear. The MPSC should weigh the same

Maybe the scale is off or you were using the "butcher" method of weighing. I usually go to FedEx or UPS to use their scales. With PS2's mounted my GT3 wheels come in at about 46 lbs front and about 60 lbs rear. As Gene pointed out, the OEM GT3 wheels are 24.3 lbs front and 30.8 lbs rear.

The gearbox still feels notchy on my car (5,000km), but it's much, much better than when it was new. On the track, the gearbox is at home and feels perfect except for the 2-3 shift when cornering. When I'm in a fully focused state (going for a lap record or chasing someone down, etc), the 2-3 shift creates anxiety and breaks my focus. I have to force myself to relax, then it falls into place, lap after lap.
