Default what is normal for delivery miles?

My GT2 has now been built and is being shipped to Monaco. I should get it in around a week or so. I am VERY VERY excited.

I asked the dealer what sort of mileage I should expect the car to have when I pick it up. His reply was 40-60km.. Is this right? I simply can't see how... or more accuratly... I can see exactly how, but would prefer not to think that my car is going to be "tested" by everybody at the garage before I pick it up.

He told me that every porsche would have this sort of mileage on it when bought new.

What was your experience?

I would say more like 10 to 15 km. Never saw much more than that. Mine had 12, I think.

Enjoy and be safe on the corniches!

I think your dealer already gave your GT2 a private test.

thanks for the replies. corsica i am thinking about movig to dubai at the moment. you will have to show me the track at some point. turbo4ever.. i suspect as much. However I have spoken to a friend who used to be a porsche dealer in switzerland who says its not impossible as some of the cars are sometimes taken out of the factory to check. I will call my mc dealer one more time to make sure that he understands that i find it very suspicious.. not much else i can do right?

Hm, my dad just bought a brand new Cayman with 12 miles on it. I think most of that was put on by me and my dad during our test drives. I don't see why your car would have as much as 60km already.

If the car has delivery miles only, I've never seen more than about 16 miles. A dealer once pointed out to me that when they get a new Porsche delivered, the trip odometer can sometimes have something like 25 miles and the regular odometer have 13 miles. He surmised that Porsche test drives the cars and then resets the odometer. If your dealer does not yet have the car, I would definitely tell them that you do not want the car to be driven by anyone upon arrival. When I order a new car, I also specifically request that no dealership promotional decals/badging be added to my cars, but I suspect Porsche dealers are less likely to add all of that crap than other brands. On my last new car purchase, I forgot to insist that a front license plate not be added, so I ended up with holes drilled in the f*king front bumper. I was not happy.

Are you using Shenker? They are pretty professional. Why not take the short flight to Stuttgart and drive it home?

My RS had 3.5 miles out of the truck, and 5 miles by the time I took delivery.

I'd suggest you visit the dealer and look at the odo on each of the new GT cars they have around. If they're not all 50-60 clicks, then there's surely something wrong with the advice from your dealer. I expect they're all more like 10-15 km.

The last two cars were both 10 miles give or take (and that's delivered in CA with some wasted miles in extra shipping.) And I know the PDI "loop" is about four miles.

It's "fishy" to have the dealer set the expectation of so many mies especially given it's not even going on a boat. I'd be cautious and ask the dealer to be especially cautious. Perhaps there's a country manager or a factory point of contact to ask for their advice on typical delivery miles.
