For the $, I'd take the GTR. Price no object, the R8.

HEAR HEAR!! It'd be difficult to turn down the uniqueness of the R8 and the massive hp of the Nissan, but I think a T4S is an all-round better street car than both of those.

The Porsche offers a proven motor and chassis, easy parts availability, and a solid dealer/support network - all of which haven't yet been proven by the Nissan. The Audi is basically a rolling fashion statement - which isn't to say it's a bad car - but a Porsche might be a more sensible daily driver in terms of parking-lot liability and storage space.

Service is the real issue of concern on the GTR. I was extremely disappointed in the VW service when I had a $50k Touareg. $80k Phaeton owners were even more disappointed. I cannot imagine taking a $100k GTR to a Nissan service dept and getting perhaps a Sentra for a loaner. I drove a Jetta loaner for a total of 60 days in my Touareg ownership period.

What about the Panamera (or what ever it's called). I thought I heard a rumor that there was going to be an AWD option on it/

having said that if you get a GT-R dont you get a guaranteed drive on part in the next "Fast and Furious" movie, a lifetime supply of hair gel products, and a really hot girlfriend in a short skirt? - not too mention the XBox 360's embedded in the headrests next to the subwoofers that can disrupt organic matter at a range of 50'!!

no contest - get the R8 ... you can fit the undercar neon later

This question was so much easier to answer when I thought you were talking about the Farnbacher Cayman GTR.
