For those of you who have installed the 996 GT3 seats in your 997 GT3/RS, which I believe are considerable, how have you dealt with the "Passenger Air Bag Light Off" light in rear centre console and the red thorax air bag light in dash that stay lit when you do the mod? Can they be turned off by getting into the computer or is there another way? Will Posche dealer do this for you or do they resist as mine has? Any imput would be appreciated.

dealer's PIWIS computer will do it.
search for it, i posted the algorithm quite a few times.

yup it's quite an easy process. Just tell your dealer you want them to disable your thorax airbag so to speak.

it's a liability issue for dealers.

i was TOLD, but don't hold me to it, that the lights are turned off but the airbag still works....

AND DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Air Bag

Program car to ignore seat belt latches, thorax airbags and AWS.
• From the main PIWIS menu
• Select POSIP
• Select CODING
• Scroll down the list to find entries for driver and passenger thorax airbags and turn them to off/no.
• Scroll down to find entries for AWS and driver and passenger seat belt buckles. Turn all three of those off as well.
• Save settings in the PIWIS
