As much as I love the look and sound of Italian cars I'm always afraid they'll break down on me...I look at the amount of money I would have forked out on my Masi should it not have been on warrenty makes me want to puke....nice cars, not overly reliable even in 2008. Someone on a Ferari forum mention that owning an Italian car is like dating a bi-polar supermodel...half the time it's fantastic, the other half you want to slash your wrist. Congrat on the RS, drive it like you stole it.

Good to hear that because despite my Masi experience I'm still contemplating a 599 to replace the Masi.
Can you truely put a good deal of milleage on F-Cars if you intend to keep untill the wheels falls off ?

Ferrari has two problems - a reputation for Italian reliability, and a garage-queen ownership culture. It's unfortunate because the latest generation of Fcars are truly spectacular to drive and seemingly quite reliable. The problem is that the garage-queen culture means they rarely get lots of miles put on them and thus their long-term reliability is hard to judge. But I visit FerrariChat a lot and see very few complaints of reliability for the 360 and 430.
My brother's F430 doesn't have quite the feel of solidity of my GT3, but it's given no trouble in its 6k miles and feels better now than it did when new. I think the new Ferraris are robust enough to use daily if you can accept the depreciation hit (and the attention). And they're certainly comfortable enough.
Peachboy, the 599 is indescribably awesome (been in one, haven't driven one). If you are fortunate enough to be able to afford one, you would have to be insane not to do it. The latest Ferraris deserve NOT to be garage queens.

I have driven the 599 and that car is crazily awesome, just too big IMO.
You are right, the new Ferrari is meant to be driven, but the maintain cost is still much higher than a Porsche.
I would love to own one in the future tho, maybe after the RS.
