DIY Rear Brake Pad Replacement?
I was planning on replacing my rear pads myself before my next track event. I saw one post by mooty that changing the rear pads is big PITA.
Has anyone done their rear pads themselves and what makes the job so hard?
Any tips to make the job easier?
Thanks.

sorry for starting an mass exodus.
the rear caliper is not hard, just harder than 996gt3.
you have to remove the caliper and insert the pads from underside. if you know how to change rotors, you know how to change the rear pads; as in either case the caliper must come off.

rear pad change
I change my rear pads alot. Quite frankly, it's easy even with the caliper removal - just takes a little longer. However, to make your life easier, get yourself a shoe box or a wash bucket. Retract pads as much as possible against the pistons. Then, remove caliper bolts (bottom first is easier). Remove upper caliper bolt. When lifting caliper away from rotor - in one continuous arc, lift straight toward front of car and then swing up and over the rear of the rotor (not much stretch available on brake lines). Support rotor on top of box or bucket. Remove one pad and replace on pad at a time (this will keep the spring engaged). Reverse procedure and you're done.
