Can anyone confirm this is the correct part number for replacement oil filter/canister for 997 RS?

yes, that is the part # for the filter element for 07 GT 3/RS... you also need the 2 crush rings. one for the oil tank ( 900 123 010 20 ) and one for the dry sump.

the o ring for the cap is 996 107 313 51 it may come with the filter element... but I may be dreaming

1. the paper filter element is the same for 996 997 wet or dry sump cars.
2. two washers one copper one alum, one for oil tank one for case, but i cant remember which goes where. just ask the counter, the know what they are.
3. yes, big rubber o ring comes in the box with the paper filter element.

4. once you pull the cap off the oil filter, there's a long prong in there. you can't miss it. on the tip of the prong is a very small rubber o ring. that should also be replaced. that o ring is much more expensive than all the other rings, $1-2 bux each.

Just changed the oil, no problemo. Mooty, I would have missed the little O ring on top of the inside prong, thanks.
