DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE AMERICAN RS AND THE EUROPEAN RS
Thanks guys for all your help in getiing an RS. I have finalized a deal with Roslyn Porsche and gotten #2829.
Now that I am patiently waiting to pick it up after the holidays.
What are the differences between the American RS and the European RS. I know we get glass instead of plastic back window, but is our hood aluminum or carbon fiber?
Anything else in term of parts, components, tuning. weight?
Thanks
Matt Asinari

most of the differences is what you won't get- lightweight seats, roll cage, rear window. although the weight of the roll cage kinda offsets the seats...which incidentally go for at least 5k a pair I think.

Matt, congrats on your RS.
The ROW RS...
- Plexiglass (or whatever it's called) lightened rear window
- no rear bumperettes
- Clubsport pkg (race seats, rear half of roll cage, harneses, fire extinguisher)
is no cost option
Both the ROW and US versions have aluminum hoods and doors. The rear decklid is plastic. No differences in tuning or chassis.
For whatever reason the cost for us in the US (and I think Canada too) to replicate the Clubsport Pkg is ~ $20k, give or take a couple.

Thanks guys. Very helpful. I read in the european magazines that the car they test drove has a CF hood. It is consistent in magazine across Europe....so i am not sure...

Another big difference between the US and EU version is the fuel tank.
The US RS has 66 L fuel tank while the EU RS has a 90 L tank.
The EU RS has a Lexan (plastic) rear window, comes with the Club Sport Pack standard (Club Sport delete not available).
The Club Sport Pack is a no cost option on the standard GT3 only if you order the light weight seats (4000 Euros).

Who is the kind soul who is organizing the GT3RS registry?
I will be happy to give him the new info to track my car #2829.
BTW, to that person, you are doing an amazing job. Your efforts help me tremendously to understand the options and all the cars available.
Amazing job!!!!! Much appreciated.
