Kia needs to build a brand name, thus their quality on the ascent.

Porsche needs to milk the brand name the builders of the brand name created, thus their quality on the descent.

Business is business.

Has anyone had the "new" RMS leak fix performed? [I understand that the "new" fix was released by Porsche in February or so).] If so, does it work? I am trying to decide whether to have my car repaired again or not (fix in December didn't work).

I have a question, not sure if this would have any effect on the RMS problems, but when you run your car, is everyone waiting for the oil temp to get to operating temp?

The old GT3 didn't have an oil temp guage, it only had a water temp guage.
The new car has both and the water temp guage hits operating temperature - for me - about 10 minutes before the oil temp guage does.

Not sure if pushing the car hard BEFORE the oil has warmed up has an effect on this or not, but just curious how many of us do actually wait for the oil temp guage and NOT the water temp guage before pushing the car.

I wait for it to reach temp and even then I don't really push it. I wait for an additional ten minutes untill I am sure that the whole car is ready.

What I used to do on the old turbos was to keep flicking the Oil Check lever and as soon as it says that I have to stop the car to take an oil reading, I know that it Oil has reached temp.

My German girl "spit" on my Italian model!

Well I made a mistake and put the RS on a lilft over my CS and sure enough...I now have some oil on my rear window of the CS

Good news is that the RS is going for its first service on Wednesday. Any tips for what I should tell them/ask for?

Mario

So I am officially in the RMS club too since this morning. 2008 997 GT3 with 3800 miles, car at the dealer for an oil change, just called me to tell me the good news. They are putting in a new seal with the latest specs ...
The only good thing about the RMS is that it seems so frequent that 1) they check it immediately 2) they have the parts in stock.

Its a money maker for the dealership. I decided not to repair it the second time for now maybe a year or two. I am going to drive it since the leak is so small I will be happy if that is the only issue with the car.

Mine was a significant amount of oil, so I chose to have it replaced to see if maybe Porsche has a new seal that works - it was fedexed in.

It's a good thing the dealer here doesn't have an r8 on hand...I do have a thing for mid engined cars.
