Default Cup R&P pics for you

- the parts arrived
- together they weigh 17.25 pounds for those that care???
- ordered the parts from TRG
- if you have never seen a ring gear or pinion shaft here you go
- if you want to count, you can see the 32 channels in the ring gear and the above photo of the pinion shaft you can count 8 nodes - thus the 8/32nds or 32/8 = 4.0 cup r&p

- i will be doing some street logging using Durametric software to get some pre and post install acceleration runs 50 to 90mph runs as well as pre and post fvd software runs
- the Durametric software can log up to 6 variables at one time so i will likely be logging rpms. speed, O2s, timing, maf

Having it REM treated would be icing on the cake.

Hey Paul, what did the parts cost? Are you doing the work or is a shop doing it ?

John, I paid $2200 from TRG for the 2 parts - I spoke with Austin, but I may have just seen that he left the company?

I wish I could work on my own car but I have neither the space nor the knowledge - my wish is that some gear head would move in next door and I could learn - I can only do the basics like change pads at a trackday

If you find a cheaper source, please don't tell me.

He actually took a non automotive job he told me. More computer/software related if I remember. AND only 5 miles from home.

A real good kid and very knowledgeable. Too bad he left.

I wonder what cumulative effect the R & P and the lightweight flywheel would have on a 997GT3 . . . and whether it would make the ultimate streetracer. . .

REM treating it would definitely be nice.

I cant wait to see the results.

BTW, any plans to add the FVD headers/exhaust after you do all the testing on the gears and software?

Not sure yet about FVD or any headers as I enjoy trackdays and it would seem that headers give you increased low end torque, not something you would use on the track, but i'm trying out FVD software and so far i think it gives a few HP but will do more dyno and street log testing on it to see if it gives any further high rpm power

I suspect that the high rpm power increases the tuners are reporting are from the 200 cell cats so this is a possibility but i have heard that they can self destruct on high hp NA cars?

That said, the weight loss of the side muffler delete is in and of it self worth considering if your local track is not 95DB sound restricted and I may still test FVD or other full exhaust systems for their weightl loss alone
