That thing is a GPS based datarecording by Racetechnology. Relativly inexpensive toy that gives you a lot of data to play with. Great to put it in someone elses car and then find out the differences...

Very interesting. Can you hook it into the ECU to get throttle, brake, steering angle etc...???

Im often at the nurburgring with our RS.

How did you get your road car into the practice session? I would love to do that

Would beat TF driving any day...

Adam,

All you need is a cage, belts, extinguisher, helmet and nomex to participate in the Friday sessions.

You do not need to have a competition licence.

You'd fit right in.

Are you there this weekend?

No need to. It calculates all that itself. As I said, tons of data. Only if you want rpms, you have to connect it to the ecu.

@Marek: There are Porsche brakes mounted to that car, so no problem there.

It's an inboard video of a guy getting a racetaxi ride during the VLN friday practce session from a good driver in a 997 Cup. 1 camera on his face and one on the track. To watch his face and his eyes during the lap is hilarious. Enjoy.
