I used to run them a LOT lower than that, like 32-34 all round....

How do they compare to the Ra1s?

x3. As an aside, the Nitto NT01 are basically the same compound as the R888 and the temps to shoot for are the same.

i cannot get 255/315 in time as rmag and stisseront (sp) suggested, so i am on 245/305 full tread.

i am pretty sure the high speed braking wiggle is due to too much tread. i will prove/disprove that next weekend.

on my RA1 full tread, 1st day was wiggle (straightline brk) after 7HC, it was solid. from then on i always shaved to 4/32.

seeing that 888 is 5/32, i thought why bother shaving 1/32. we'll see.

will wait to hear your feedback. mine have few days on them and still not great. never liked the way they felt nor the nt-01 for that matter. don't have a large slip angle as the ra1 and don't have as stiff side walls as the r6.

I have 6 days on a set of 245 and 305's now, including driving to and from the track for a combined 800+ miles, and my fronts still have plenty in them, the rears I flipped on the rim and then changed from left to right and probably have another day of 2 in them. It's mostly the inside rear that will force me to purchase new ones. I'm shooting for around 38-40 hot, since that seems to get my tires within about 20F from inside to outside. I still have another set sitting with my tire guy that I haven't needed yet, also full thread. Next set after that will definitely be shaved, since they wear like steel. Not as fast as Hoohoos, but I drive to the track. Normally, my tires last me 4 days at most, including MPSC's, so I'm happy with them.

If somebody tries the 255 and 315's, I would love to know if there are any ABS issues or not. There are none with the 245 and 305's

you started with full tread right? my shaved RA1 only good for combined 800 miles 1/2 track 1/2 street, then corded both inside and outside on both rear tires.

keep me posted on that one.
my full tread RA1 lasted a long time. 2x longer than shaved to 4/32.
when shaved 800 miles, see above.
