+1 Even my locals are considering mark-up on their 1 allocation. I vowed as a customer for life since I got my RS at MSRP. But, if they demand above it on the GT2, I may be looking for a new home.

LOL, maybe you better learn to drive a little...................AWD is for total noobs on the track and with just a basic alignment/tires the 996 GT2 will rip your EVO a new a hole and then some with a skilled driver. Flash, turbo's RS suspension pieces etc puts it in another zipcode entirely no matter how much the EVO is modified.
BTW, have plenty of set time in EVO's, so no hating here just re arranging some facts.
Now if you are talking about the 997 GT2 then I sincerely question your state of mind if you believe the Mits provides a similar driving experience............

Other than having the honor of being first on one's block with a depreciating "asset", why would one want to pay over MSRP? Several weeks ago there was a segment on 60 Minutes about Doctors Without Borders, http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org -- why would not one instead give the $45K to them to save lifes rather than to a temporary vehicle. Owning a GT2 might make one a big man (and then only for a moment), saving lifes makes one a great one.

June build? I've heard that 7GT2s coming to the U.S. are starting mid-January build, March delivery. Given that U.S. dealers are receiving so few - some dealers aren't getting any GT2s - I'm surprised to learn that you received such a late build date.

The market is becoming insane... The RS market when talking to another member who has several is just outright ridiculous at 60k above, and just a laugh for anything under :/
Most of these dealers are only getting 1 to 2 car's in, and they are taking advantage x100!

Per a very reliable source, PCNA no longer cares about dealer "mark-ups" because the cars are being flipped by the customers for the same ridiculous prices on ebay. Understandably, they would rather the dealers make the profit rather than speculators who are going to kill the market as they did with the CGT and previous GT2. According to my source, Porsche is limiting their production numbers for the 911 series and even more so for the GT cars in the U.S. This is primarily due to the foreign emerging markets as well as the declining dollar. As a matter of fact, Dubai has now surpassed Champion as their highest volume dealer.
Of course like anything else, there will be a good news and bad news scenario with this development. The good news is that this will keep the values more stable like the old days (pre-996 models) but the bad news is that it means more mark ups on harder to get cars.
I am sure that many of the more reputable dealers are going to stay loyal to their VIP customers who are not into the flipping business. My dealer, whom I have purchased many cars from, is giving me their first GT2 at MSRP.
Best,
Amir

Congrats Amir. It appears you were better positioned than I. I wonder how many cars purchased from the dealer would have elevated my status? 3 in the last 3 years was obviously not enough. Given this experience, I likely will not position myself to play their game in the future.

I just got some limited edition signed GT2 press book from PCNA, #780 of 2500 or so copies. Came in the mail despite the fact that my dealer is not going to be able to assign an allocation to me. Is that like a slap in the face?

i agree fully. now evo may not last as long as GT2/3, but when they are working, they give GT cars lots of trouble. and they can enter high speed turns almost anywhere on the track.... i have a lot of respect for evo and sti's.

It's just ridiculous to feed into the hype to the point that one would pay 50k over and more-it's a depreciating asset after all. Enough of this cool aid.
