Default What options are worth getting on the RS?

Hi all,

just wondering what experience people have specing their RS - what's worth getting and what isn't? Lets say for mainly street use but the occasional track day. I presume PCCB is a "must"? Carbon package? Leather? Anyone looked at deviating caliper color? GT seats comes standard. TIA for advice.

regards

I think you should take the following:

Whatever colour you like
PCCB
Xenon
Shaded upper windscreen
Cruise control
Interior carpets
If you drive a lot on the street also take the PCM, otherwise skip it.

Skip leather. The car looks nice anyway and you save 4 kg of weight.
Skip Sport Chrono. You get the same function with a stop watch.
Skip TPC. Does not seem to work very well when driving on the track.
As far as I know it is not possible to get a deviating caliper colour.

If you take the car in orange with PCCB I would suggest you change the red harness to a black one. Looks much nicer!

Tjena Stockholm, thanks, I was wondering how much the leather would add. It would be great to see comparison pics of the two. Any idea about the carbon package, stupid question maybe but does for example a carbon center console add weight or actually save some - or is it just like a thin layer glued on top of the already existing console? Sorry for my ignorance on this.

the carbon package is just for looks - not to save weight

You can save weight by going for the carbon seats

If you are going to drive it muich on the street, get the Nav/Comms system, more and more countries are getting difficult about mobile phones in cars and a decent Nav system does save time and takes the stress out of finding a new place.

If it is a track car, select a painted interior, otherwise make is as ritzy as you feel comfortable spending.

These pictures should give you an idea of the car without and with leather.

Can someone please enlighted me on the following options;

- thicker steering wheel; what's the difference? Is the material the same, does it come with the yellow directional marker as well?
- headlight washers; do they come in chrome as on the TT unless specified with option CJA in exterior color?
- carbon fiber mirrors; is this after market? Where to get?
- deviated stiching (with full leather option), seems possible, anyone have pics of this? Cost?
- storage compartment lid with logo - pics?

Apologies for all the questions...but thanks for any replies.
