Road Trip---Oil Consumption & RMS Leak
Just returned from a 900 mile road trip. The GT3 is an amazing car. The car has no faults although I wish it had more horsepower. Rough roads, smooth roads, or torrential down pours the car was rock solid. You could cruise all day at triple digit speeds. The car averaged 21.7 mpg.
But here is the strange thing. I had a RMS leak before I left on the trip. The car no longer leaks. Is it possible for the leak to fix itself? When I got back I had to add a 1/2 liter of oil. The car has 2500 miles on it. So is a 1/2 liter normal consumption? Most of the 900 miles were in 90-100 degree temperatures, high mountain passes at 8K-11K feet and sustained triple digit speeds.

Yes, that correlates with Our Cup experience, several late Cups leaked when new. Drove the heck out of them and they stopped. Let them sit for awhile and some would begin to leak again, some didnt...more evidence to drive the cars! lol

I have had the RMS and front engine seal recently fixed on my RS...
I am actually starting to think one of the reasons they go, could be due to overfilling of oil by the dealer, as they go for the higher fill level, (which is sometimes over maximum, especially when hot)
Maybe answers you question ??
