I didn't think the PCCB calipers and the steel calipers 'are' exactly the same actually.....

Also, if you look, steel calipers are mounted in a different (lower) position to where the PCCB calipers are.....

Measure them and You will see they are identical in mounting location. Also note that the steel and PCCB rotors are both 380mm.

I think you are wrong.

PCCB rotors are 380mm, steel are not, they are 350 or 360mm.

Also, look at the different mounting positions between these steel and PCCB equipped cars, note how the
red caliper is lower mounted than the yellow one..

I know the uprights looked the same and they fit on the street GT3 we test fit them on, it had the red calipers. Guess I dont know what else to say. Perhaps someone can measure the front rotors on their 997 GT3 and let us know the measurement?

I suggest nobody bid on them that doesnt want them, how about that?

The interesting thing to note is that means that the Cup calipers, either red or yellow are the same as the yellow calipers on the 997 GT3... Also interesting to note that the steel rotors and PCCB rotors off my 997 GT3 Cup are both 380 front and 350 rear...so that means if You hurt Your PCCB's You can just run Steel Cup rotors instead if You like.

I don't know how the Domestic Carrera Cup series works in the States, but the Carerra Cup Great Britain runs steel brakes (not sure of rotor size) and only the Supercup run PCCB.

The front PCCB rotors on the 997 GT3 and GT3RS are 380mm while the steel rotors are 350mm.

Clarification,

The 997 GT3 uses two different front uprights:

997 341 157 93 and 997 341 158 93 for cars with iron rotors

997 341 157 94 and 997 341 158 94 for cars with PCCB rotors

The front iron rotors on the 997 GT3 street car are 350mm, the PCCB front rotors are 380mm.

In order to install the 997 GT3 PCCB rotors in a 997 GT3 originally equipped with iron rotors you need:

- New front uprights
- New front brake fluid lines
- New front calipers

You can get away re-using the uprights from the iron brakes, by fabricating a custom brake line for the front.

In case of the 997 GT3 Cup, the red calipers still use 380mm iron rotors. I don't have the part numbers for the 997 GT3 Cup.

This information is coming from the PET for the US 997 GT3.

Great info, that helps clear up the confusion. I found out that the Cup comes with what appears to be the same upright that the street PCCB equipped car has. The Cup also has Yellow(German Supercup) and Red( All the rest SuperCup) Calipers which have identical dimensions externally and the same mounting bolt locations. They also have the same brake pad dimensions. If I get additional info i will post. Thanks again!

Not to throw more on this but isn't the brake booster and biasing valve different for the ceramic and iron systems?

The brake master cylinder, the ABS hydraulic unit and all the other hardware is the same, with the exception of what I have mentioned above, and the brake pads. Some parts are unique to LHD or RHD (U.K., AUS, Japan, etc) cars.

Not to my knowledge But I bet NJ can tell You for sure. I would expect that the ABS unit/PSM handles the biasing in the street car. The Cup of course has no ABS.

Oh yes, forgot to mention there will be a set of used pads that come with them. They are PF 50's that came with the rotors.

Guys,

I think the rotors offered are desirable for anyone who has PCCB now and is looking for cheap insurance against track wear or breakage.
